Interestingly this song came out of a songwriting class assignment at the Old Town School of Folk Music. Steve Dawson, the facilitator, gives an assignment every week. That week it was to “write a song with a moving bass line.” That night after the class I sat down with a guitar and discovered the opening figure. And it caught fire with me. The nice moody nature of the music led to the opening line: “Do me a favor, just turn out the light.” And I thought. This is good! When I came up with the second line, “Don’t want to argue, let’s call it a night” I knew I was off to the races. The rest of the lyric burned through me like taco with hot sauce
